President's Message

An Angel City Chapter Welcome

Let me introduce you to the Angel City Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.  Angel City is 1 of 288 chapters of The Links, Incorporated. Our membership consists of nearly 50 professional women of color. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.

The Angel City Chapter is extremely proud of our award-winning Achiever Program, which has served the Los Angeles community supporting male African American high school seniors prepare for college and achieve their life goals. The focus is to prepare these young men for the challenges of life with an emphasis on contributing to society and their community. Each young man interacts and bonds with male role models from the community who often work in the profession that the young man wishes to pursue. They receive assistance with college preparation, advice on entrepreneurial skills, participate in motivational workshops, including STEM, social responsibility and guidance in community involvement. Substantial scholarship’s and awards are a keynote of the program, over 3 million dollars, in scholarships and awards, has been given since 1982.

The Achiever Program has been recognized by the Los Angeles City Council; won National and Area Link Program Awards and has been featured on local and national television programs. We are proud of our Achiever Program and hope you’ll join us in supporting these deserving young African American high school males, in achieving their life goals.
